Job Description

Reporting to the Financial Controller and working closely with the founders, the Accounting Technician will play a key role in Maguire's day-to-day accounting operations. This person will be responsible for bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, month-end close activities, and monitoring both accounts payable and accounts receivable.

Key Responsibilities

• Record daily accounting entries (using QuickBooks);
• Manage accounts receivable and payable, invoicing, and payments;
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts;
• Monitor inventory from an accounting perspective.
• Assist with monthly financial closings;
• Reconcile general ledger accounts;
• Prepare journal entries;
• Process payroll;
• Assist with preparing government filings (GST, QST, Sales Tax, etc.);
• Monitor and reconcile corporate credit card expenses;
• Assist with inventory reconciliations;
• Prepare financial reports and analyses as requested;
• Collaborate with external accountants and auditors during year-end;
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting and administrative processes.

Candidate Profile

• College Diploma /DEC in Accounting or equivalent;
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role;
  
• Proficiency in both French and English;
• Strong knowledge of Excel and QuickBooks;
• Detail-oriented, reliable, self-motivated, and proactive;
• Experience in retail or fashion is an asset;
• Interest in entrepreneurship and growing SMEs.
