At first these felt a bit too big and wide for me as I have pretty narrow feet, but as long as I wear insoles and style them with socks they're super comfortable to walk around in all day. The next size down would probably have been too short. I get compliments on these almost every time I wear them and I feel like they make all my outfits more fun. I probably won't be able to wear them in the summer without socks but I don't mind. I also just love that Maguire is so easy to buy from. I live on the West Coast and their return policy makes it so easy to find the right size and style without paying a fortune for shipping back and forth. I've also found their customer service very responsive and helpful. I'll definitely be a return customer!
Hi Kerria, Thank you for this lovely review :) We're so happy to hear that you're enjoying your Neiva all the way from the West Coast! Best, Team Maguire
I was thrilled to discover this brand and especially this shoe. It was as if the Maguire Shoes designers saw the fun, funky, comfy shoe spinning around in my imagination and created it! Ordering to the U.S. (California - SF Bay Area) was easy and flawless, the shoes arrived in less than a week and they are even more adorable in person than they look online. So, why only three stars? Because I live in a city, I walk everywhere and I like shoes that are comfortable to wear for walking long distances. This shoe LOOKs like it should be comfortable, and it is actually less comfortable than it looks. At this price point I would have expected the following: a removable footbed so I could use my own orthotics (not everybody has perfect feet, some of us need specialized support); better materials and manufacturing in the uppers - there is a hard seam on the inner heel area that I can already tell is going to cause bleeding if I don't figure out a way to pad it, the seam basically makes these shoes impossible to wear without socks; some padding around the upper edges of the heel - the leather is a sharp straight unfinished cut which, like the seam, makes it rather unforgiving and likely to dig into all but the toughest skin; better quality leather for a softer more supple upper. Personally, I would also have preferred an extra bit of width in the toe box - I have narrow heels and C-width toes - or a wide width option for those of us who need a little more room. So, why I am keeping them in spite of all my criticisms? Because the design is EXACTLY what I was looking for, the color is fantastic, and they're going to be wearable for those times when I won't have to do a lot of walking. I plan to take them to my local shoemaker to see if they can help with the above seam and padding problems to make these more wearable in hopes that I will be able to enjoy them as I want to: wearing them as part of my everyday style to walk around my city.
